What I think you should know:

To Love a Prince by Rachel Hauck is the first book in the True Blue Royal series.  Although this book is the first in a series it follows up with a few of the characters from Hauck’s book , The Fifth Avenue Story Society.  You can read this book first, but you will understand a little more about the background of Prince Augustus if you have read the prior book first.

What I think about this book:

Hauck has a wonderful way of bringing her characters to life in a way that they could easily be one of your friends. Daffy was such a wonderful character, I felt so bad for her in many of the situations in the book and was pulling for her.  I loved Coral in The Fifth Avenue Story Society so I was super excited to get to read her ex fiance’s story!  Prince Augustus was not what I had expected him to be from Coral’s story. It was interesting to get to know him.  I love how the story showed that choices that you make in the past can come back to haunt you. The story kept me turning the pages and I did not want it to end. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Rachel Hauck is an award winning, New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author.

Her book The Wedding Dress was named Inspirational Novel of the Year by Romantic Times Book Reviews. She is a double RITA finalist, and a Christy and Carol Award Winner.

Her book, Once Upon A Prince, first in the Royal Wedding Series, was filmed for an Original Hallmark movie.

Hello Royal Rockstar Readers!

I'm thrilled to share To Love A Prince with you. So many of you who loved the Royal Wedding Series have asked for more royals so as I noodled over new story ideas, my thoughts drifted toward princes and princesses. What's more romantic than a royal wedding?

This royal story, the first book in a new series, True Blue Royal, is set in a new fictional country, Lauchtenland, in the North Sea. I’m really squeezing all those oil wells currently occupying that body of water.

The beauty of royal stories is they remind us of who we really are: princes and princesses. There is always a point in the story where the royal character, as well as the commoner, must come to grips with his and her true identity! Who God says we are!

Stories are a powerful reflection of life and it’s fun to insert ourselves into the tale. While fiction employs a lot of hyperbole we can find ourselves on the page somewhere, somehow.

Mystery, suspense and romance readers will enjoy this story.  Well developed characters make this book an enjoyable read.  The historical aspects added to the story.  Add mystery and romance and you have a good story. The inspirational story contained in the pages makes this worth the read.

The River Beautiful is my first novel. The story means so much to me, and I am so happy to finally share it with you all. This book has been years in the making and covers so many topics that are important to me. Many of them were fun to write about, but a few were hard to deal with at times. Three elements stand out to me when I think of Lena’s story: Love, Loss, and Legend. Love- Love is a beautiful gift. In fact, I would say it is the most precious gift God ever gave us. Love, in its correct form, is free, unconditional, and the basis our salvation. God’s love for us cannot be altered or blocked by darkness, not even the paralyzing darkness of grief. So, when love comes into play in this story, it comes from that perspective. Lena struggles to accept love, but I think that is a place many of us have been at one time or another. Loss can be lifechanging and usually not for the better. To turn The River Beautiful into the story it is, I had to bring up emotions from my own experiences with grief. Churning up those feelings after I’d had them tucked away for so long resulted in many tearful typing sessions. But at the end of the day, I think it brought unexpected healing and a level of authenticity to the story that it would not have had otherwise. Legend- Researching the legends of the Lenni Lenape people was enlightening. I have always felt a connection to history and the past intrigues me so that I could not help but bring in some element of mystery from the area’s indigenous inhabitants. My usual go-to when it comes to history tends to be Early American and European, but for this project I was able to bring in a blend of all three for a fictional retelling of key events—and that was exciting! By combining the elements of Love, Loss, and Legend, I hope I have created a story that not only entertains but moves readers as well. And I hope you love it!

Afflicted but not Crushed
I created the character, Jenna, from The Builder’s Reluctant Bride, during a time of life filled with chaos. Changed ripped stability out from underneath me. I couldn’t tell if my challenges were from God deigned to build my faith or if they were a temptation from the enemy to doubt God. Life struck with a severity that stole the breath from my lungs, so I retreated into a fictional world to process. I needed to be reminded, like Jenna, that my current struggles didn’t negate the ways God was using me. I needed to remember that God would use everything in my life to shape me into His image and draw me closer to Him.
“I thought after his mom died, I had lost the both of them. Then, you came around.” The corners of his eyes crinkled.
“Me?” she squeaked.
“Yes. You changed everything for him. I know you left for college right after graduation, so you likely didn’t see the change. But God took that seed you planted in my son and grew this man.” He gestured to William, who stood with his fire jacket off and held a dog while it licked his soot-covered face. “This man of God.” Carmen looked squarely into her eyes. “I am indebted to you, Jenna.”
She squirmed at his unquestionable sincerity. She didn’t deserve his praise for directing his son to faith, the same faith that later let her down in every conceivable way.

First of all I love this cover and how it perfectly represents the story inside. Our ugly, sinful life and then the beauty that comes through by Christ’s sacrifice and our acceptance of Him. This true story will make you cry, hurt for the author and wonder how she’ll ever pull herself out of the murky mire of her sin. Growing up she felt unloved, unwanted, and unhappy. She was abused at a young age and as she grew up found herself deeper and deeper in the world of drugs, alcohol and “dancing” for money in smoke filled bars. It broke my heart every time she mentioned feeling unwanted. No child should ever experience the rejection of their very own parents.

God had plans for BJ, and you’ll be amazed by what happens in her life and what she accomplishes when she prays and lets God take over. I know I certainly was!

All my life I have battled with feelings of being unwanted and unloved. Somewhere between the insanity of the Jerry Springer show and the emotional outcry of the Oprah show, the unbelievable redemption details of my life are unfolded onto the pages of this book.

Spunky. silly, and sassy are the three words that best describe my personality. I believe the Lord gave me a love for hamburgers to make sure I never return to a life of selling my body to make ends meet. Spending time with my grand kids who are basically perfect is my favorite pastime. I love being Jay’s wife and serving beside him on the mission field. By God’s amazing grace, I have come full circle, receiving complete forgiveness and healing from a childhood full of abuse, teen pregnancy, sexual promiscuity, abortion, and working in the sex industry. If the Lord can use a story like mine, rest assured He will use a story like yours!

If like me, you have ugly in your past, I want to encourage you that no matter what you have done, no matter what has been done to you, there is hope and healing through Jesus Christ.

What a beautiful book of a mother’s love for her daughter and the legacy she left behind. The book reads as a letter to Christina in heaven and as an encouragement to anyone who has endured a loss. I find it fitting that this is the last book I have read this year, especially after my daddy going to heaven last month. I loved the pacing of the book and even though it deals with earthly loss that it makes your heart long for that heavenly reunion. We all have a choice in the legacy we leave behind and for myself I long to be more like Christina. This book should be in the hands of everyone as it holds the potential to make life changes between its pages. I recommend it as a great book to gift to friends and family. It may bring tears, but a Joy comes in the morning.

About the Author

Stephanie Broersma is a living example of how God brings beauty from ashes in the lives of His children. Married since 2002, she and her husband, Tim, have walked through the valley of marital betrayal and come out the other side stronger, more in love, and fully devoted to Christ. She now heads Reclaimed Ministry, an organization that seeks to help other broken brides recover from the pain and devastation of marital infidelity. FUN FACTS about the book and Stephanie:

– In keeping identities private, Stephanie had to come up with a system to replace names when sharing stories from other women. She replaced the names with cast members from her favorite TV series, The Office.

– Stephanie has walked in two Susan G. Women 3 Day breast cancer walks and has ran in races with distances from 5k-50k.

– Her goal is to run a race in every state by the age of 50. She’s welcome to invitations and races with causes.
